Following the guidance of our Provincial counterparts, the City of Corner Brook is observing a fire ban until further notice. This includes camp fires and backyard fires within City Limits. All burning permits are suspended until further notice. Fireworks are banned generally as per our new regulations, with the exception of certain hours on Canada Day and New Years Eve.

Propane barbeques and propane fireplaces/ heaters are allowed, as well as similar outdoor camping stoves. Please ensure they are at least three metres from any flammable material, and keep a hose or fire extinguisher nearby at all times.

The Province has implemented this ban as a safety precaution due to the Churchill Falls wildfires currently burning in Labrador, and a concern for stretching their resources.

To report a fire, or unauthorized burning, call 9-1-1.

This advisory will remain in effect until further notice. Corner Brook Fire Services will continue to monitor the situation.
