Beginning Tuesday, April 1, the City of Corner Brook will provide free bus passes to eligible residents, enhancing accessibility to public transportation. This initiative aims to support residents on income support, youth receiving youth services, and seniors receiving the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS). The program is made possible through generous funding from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Residents on income support and youth receiving youth services will be contacted directly by their provincial representatives. Seniors receiving GIS can obtain their monthly passes by visiting City Hall starting April 1st. A government-issued ID and proof of GIS will be required. Passes can be renewed monthly through the online system or at City Hall. Questions about the program can be forwarded to The City at 709-637-1666.

This expansion, coupled with the introduction of the M-Card system, the doubling of bus capacity and a new, easy to use payment system demonstrates the City of Corner Brook’s ongoing commitment to improving and expanding our public transit system, ensuring it is accessible and efficient for all residents.
