***UPDATE*** As of 10:50 p.m.: Both lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway are open, Riverside Drive will close again around midnight of this evening.
We would like to advise residents and visitors that due to an overturned oil tanker on the intake / outgoing TCH ramp of Lewin Parkway, Riverside Dr will be temporarily open to two way traffic so that cross-province travel can flow.
Traffic traveling East-bound along the Trans-Canada Highway can enter Corner Brook through Exit 4 (Near Massey Drive / Watsons Pond Industrial Park area) and get to Riverside via the ring road.
West-bound traffic can enter through Exit 7 (Man In The Mountain) and follow Riverside Drive to Lewin Parkway, then take Lewin Parkway west to Highway 450 and exit past Watson’s Pond Industrial Park.
Please note this is a temporary opening of Riverside Drive in order to allow traffic to flow through, as well as in and out of the City unobstructed. Work is still required and we will close it again when this situation has been resolved.
If motorists within Corner Brook could seek alternate routes to avoid any of these roads and allow provincial traffic to flow through it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your patience.
